Council passes consent resolutions including street closures, resurfacing and fireworks; insurance and theater renovation also approved

At its May meeting the Peekskill Common Council approved a package of consent and individual resolutions covering community events, public works and administrative matters.
Highlights included:
- Resolution J1: Authorized the street closure of South Street between Union Avenue and South Division Street for the Auslan Festival on Aug. 16, 2025 (carried by voice vote).
- Resolution J2: Authorized the Department of Public Works to proceed with the 2025 street resurfacing program and to either extend the existing paving contract with Laura Li Industries or solicit competitive bids.
- Resolution J3: Authorized the city manager to enter into a contract with Garden State Fireworks for the July 4, 2025 fireworks display.
- Resolution J7: Authorized binding coverage with PERMA for workers'compensation insurance for 06/01/2025'05/31/2026 at a premium of $1,033,351.
- Resolution J12: Authorized the city manager to consent to allow Hanuman Hudson Valley Art Inc. to proceed with renovation at the Paramount Theatre.
Most resolutions carried unanimously by voice vote or standard procedure. The notable exception was Resolution J6 (bond authorization for Momentum projects), which carried by majority roll call (one "No" vote recorded). The meeting record contains roll-call details and the clerk recorded the votes for J6.
