County Attorney’s office gains new deputy position and Lead promotion; IT and books budgets increased

County Attorney Dianna Bennett outlined proposed step-and-grade increases for deputy attorneys, proposed promoting one deputy to Lead deputy attorney, and requested adding a new deputy attorney position. Commissioner Lonnie Wright moved to add the new deputy attorney position and promote a deputy to Lead; the motion passed unanimously. The Board also approved increasing the Attorney books and catalogs line from $31,000.00 to $36,000.00 and amended the IT capital computer budget line to $103,000.00 to fund a computer for the new position.
These approvals require follow-up budget entries and purchases by County IT and the County Clerk's Office. The motions were unanimous and will be incorporated into the Proposed Budget and staffing plans; the County Attorney indicated the added position would affect book/catalog and equipment line items as presented.
