Board cuts $110,000 commercial air service line, rejects $285,000 storage building; remaining capital budget approved

The Board amended the Capital budget to remove the $110,000 commercial air service line because the board determined it was funded in GPET; the motion to decrease that line to zero (moved by Commissioner Nick Siddle) passed unanimously. Commissioner Mike Arzy moved to approve allocating $285,000.00 for a new county storage building and discussed possible locations (Fairgrounds, near the Coroner's Office/Krinkee Park, or at the Airport); that motion failed 2–3 (Arzy and Jennings in favor; Haswell, Siddle and Wright against). Commissioner Lonnie Wright then moved to approve the remaining Capital budget with the proposed amendments; that motion passed 4–1 (Jennings, Haswell, Siddle and Wright in favor; Arzy against).
The Board also reduced Road & Bridge capital from $95,000.00 to $75,000.00 and changed the account name "New Office Building next to Public Health" to "New Public Defender Building." The Fairgrounds' capital requests for arena area lighting, exhibit hall flooring and vendor pedestals remained approved for General Fund Equity as originally requested.
