The Wahkiakum County Fair Board elected Erin Hill president and appointed Kelly Stewart as treasurer at its June 24, 2026 meeting. Vice President Brian called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., and the board voted to install Hill as president.
Discussion of the treasurer role preceded the appointment. "Erin moved that we ask someone from the public to serve as Treasurer," a motion seconded by Audry and carried by the board. Guest Marti suggested Kelly Stewart, who was identified as an employee at a local bank; Erin moved to appoint Stewart and Jim Wright seconded the motion, which the board carried. Board members noted the county code distributed at the meeting permits the treasurer to be a community member rather than a board member, and Phillis recommended allowing time for training for the new treasurer.
The board did not record individual vote tallies in the meeting minutes. The newly elected president and treasurer will assume coordination duties immediately; members noted basic training and access (passwords) for online accounts should be completed before major financial activity.
