Department of Health telehealth project extended to 2026; libraries to host navigators and mobile clinics

Mann said the project is coordinating with digital navigators and REACH projects so that clients who first receive digital-navigation training can progress to telehealth services with navigators who help schedule appointments, create email addresses and provide basic device help. She outlined plans for a public-facing map/dashboard of telehealth activities and navigators, and described partnerships to outfit mobile clinic vans with telehealth equipment adapted to island conditions.
Mann also said the program is recruiting telehealth navigators (high-school diploma or GED required, training provided) and that current pay rates are about $20 an hour. She emphasized the need for evaluation data to sustain services and said the team is exploring innovative evaluation, including conversational AI tools, to document outcomes beyond standard surveys.
