Waipahu Adult School to run pop-up digital-literacy workshops at hiring event and campus courses

Christine Park, representing Waipahu Adult School and noting her organization is a WIOA partner, described multiple digital-literacy offerings: pop-up workshops at an American Job Center hiring event at the Blaisdell, ongoing Waipahu campus classes, and closed training for city and county blue-collar workers. "We're gonna be doing from 09:30 to 10:30, basic computer basics. And then from 11 to 12, 12:30, we're gonna be doing some Internet and cybersecurity," she said.
Park said current Waipahu classes run through the week and that the 30-hour course covers basics through internet safety and email; registration is still open for the current term with more events planned in July and a fall term coming. She offered laptops and MiFis for pop-up workshops and asked Hui members to help spread flyers and registration links so community residents can attend.
Park said she will share a course menu in the chat and coordinate with library staff and other partners to reach congregate settings and shelters that have safety or privacy concerns.
