The Commission on Persons with Disabilities discussed a pending accessibility concern at the Maui County Building (200 High Street in Wailuku) and noted the lack of departmental response.
"Secretary Danish reported that no response has been received. Director Willis is scheduling a meeting with the Mayor regarding accessibility at County building and will provide an update to the Commission following the meeting," the minutes state. Commissioners pressed the need for a departmental reply and for clearer timelines, noting the item has been pending since December.
Chair Francine Aarona said she would contact appropriate parties directly to determine the status and report back at the next meeting. The Commission discussed narrowing its letter to focus specifically on accessibility concerns to facilitate a more targeted departmental response.
