My Van program gives Westerville students consistent, relationship-based rides

Randy Snyder described the My Van program as a district initiative started in winter 2018 to provide specialized, relationship-focused transportation. The program was created to answer three questions: can the district provide equal or better service, can it be cost-effective, and can it give students a consistent experience.
"The My Van program is something, honestly, that's near and dear to our team's heart," Snyder said. "This is my van. This is my driver. These are my friends on the van." He said many drivers who began with the program in 2018 remain with the district today and that My Van drivers typically transport seven or eight students and build close relationships with families.
Snyder framed the program as both a service-quality and cost-awareness choice, noting the district partners with a local transportation provider and that the program provides continuity for students who require specialized supports.
