Spencer County approves $3,000 donation for 'Christmas on Main' after Chamber presentation

The chair moved that the county donate $3,000 to the event; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Meeting discussion included where the donation could be drawn from the community events line in the county budget if sponsorships fell short. The Chamber representative also outlined sponsorship and membership efforts (reported membership at 191) and described partnerships with local groups for event staffing and staging.
Court members said they valued the Chamber’s community events and noted past county support; the donation was approved to help ensure the event remains free to the community.
