Piedmont council elevates alternate to planning commission and appoints new alternate

The council considered two applicants to fill a recently vacated voting seat on the planning commission and voted unanimously to elevate the existing alternate and to appoint Cooper as the new alternate.
Council members thanked outgoing chair Aranda DeJodia for her service. One council member said of DeJodia, "She really brings a, a great just a gift to sort through really complex problems, and I think it really showed in her work there," praising her leadership and repeated service.
The motion to appoint the alternate to the full seat and to fill the alternate vacancy was moved, seconded and approved by unanimous roll call. The council noted the importance of alternates in recent months when seated commissioners were unavailable and thanked all volunteers for their work.
