Piedmont Education Foundation outlines $4 million-plus grant plan, accepts $70,000 donation

Heather, speaking for the Piedmont Education Foundation, told the school board the foundation passed its budget and grant-distribution plan at its May meeting and expects to "raise about 4,600,000, and we will spend about 600,000 so that we can grant PUSD another $4,000,000." She said teachers and student support staff are the top funding priority, and that about 95% of funds will go to those areas.
Heather reported that PEF accepted a $70,000 grant from Dress Best for Less, noted incoming PEF leaders (Bridget Schreiber as chair; Marco Gonzalez Navarro as vice chair; Julia Ruthven as treasurer; Adam Fishman as secretary), and welcomed new board members Ayanna Chakravatula, Supina Mepone, Matt Olsen, and Dan Saper.
