Manager announces Sept. 16 zoning hearing, PennDOT grant support and local events

Borough Manager Cindy Wells reported several calendar items and notices: the next council meeting is Monday, Sept. 16, 2024 at 6:30 P.M. and will include a public hearing on a proposed zoning ordinance amendment; the hearing and a proposed amendment to the parking ordinance will be advertised twice as required. She also said the borough will send a letter of support for a PennDOT Charging & Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program application along the US Route 6 corridor.
Wells listed upcoming community events and training opportunities: an EMS meeting at Fort LeBoeuf on Aug. 28; Devereaux Day park and trail kickoff on Sept. 13 (11:00–1:00) to promote the Erie-to-Pittsburgh Trail Head; a council meeting to review health insurance plans on Sept. 25; a Free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training on Sept. 27–29; and the UPMC Hamot Erie County Firefighters Association Safety Awards Dinner on Sept. 27. She also noted the towing ordinance will not be advertised for bids.
