Greentown Council approves minutes and dockets, accepts routine reports; nuisance-abatement case set for December trial

The Greentown Town Council met on July 21, 2026 and took several routine actions, including approving the minutes from the July 7 meeting and accepting multiple fund dockets and department reports.
President Scott Deyoe called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and noted the session was livestreamed. The council approved the minutes of the July 7, 2026 meeting after a motion from Mark Lantz and a second from Debra Everling; the motion carried.
Council members then accepted financial dockets covering multiple funds. Reported totals included a General Fund of $36,711.00; Water Fund $36,332.21; Wastewater Fund $71,075.90; and Stormwater Fund $16,936.18. Craig Standish moved to accept the dockets and Everling seconded; the motion carried.
Under "Items from Attorney," Mr. Peelle informed the council that Judge Tate denied a motion to amend the complaint in a nuisance-abatement case concerning 624 W. Payton Street; the case is scheduled for trial the first week in December 2026. Stan Oyler of the Greentown Fire Department was not present to give the fire report.
Marshal Haalck read May and June 2026 paper police reports, and the council moved to accept those reports. Paper water reports for May and June 2026 were also read and accepted following motions and seconds from council members.
The council noted that the livestream recording is posted on the town website and that the Town may destroy recordings after 90 days under the stated retention notice.
