Streets Supervisor Bob Phillips reported a sinkhole at Municipal Lot #1 caused by loss of 68' toward a Municipal Authority pipe and shared engineering recommendations to repair the site, including replacing a 24" clay tile, reconnecting pipes, replacing a catch basin with a larger unit and replacing approximately 10 feet of pipe. Bob Carpenter (Insight) and engineer Tim Wells provided the recommendations.
Council reviewed two written estimates: Mansfield proposed $22,295 and McLallen Construction proposed $23,450; both bids required borough-provided truck support. Councilor Steadman moved to award the work to Mansfield at $22,295, Councilor Osborn seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
