Council approves tentative budgets for Local Building Authority and CRA, then reconvenes as City Council
Summary
On unanimous votes the council approved tentative capital-projects budgets for the Local Building Authority and the Community Reinvestment Agency and then reconvened as the council to consider the mayor's proposed city budget and other business.
During the opening of the hybrid meeting the council acted in three separate roles.
As the Local Building Authority the council approved a resolution adopting the tentative budget for the LBA capital projects fund for FY2026-27 after a motion and second; the motion carried unanimously. The body then adjourned the LBA session and reconvened as the Community Reinvestment Agency, where the council similarly approved the CRA tentative budget for FY2026-27.
After CRA business the body adjourned and returned to its regular council meeting to continue with agenda items including the mayor's budget presentation, multiple public hearings and other items on the evening agenda.
The votes were recorded as unanimous on the LBA and CRA tentative-budget measures, and the council proceeded to the city business and scheduled public hearings for the night.
What happens next: the tentative budgets will be included in the council's work over the coming weeks as the council moves toward an interim city budget adoption in June.
