The council considered and approved a request to transfer an escrowed 2026 Class C liquor license (with SDM and Sunday-sales permits) for a new pool-hall business at 42108 Van Dyke.
The petitioner, who identified himself as Milliards, said the venue is a pool hall that currently offers cold food and snacks and that employees will complete the state's TIPS/TAMS training to check identification and prevent underage sales. "We don't have alcohol yet...we check IDs, make sure they're over 21," the petitioner said. Council members asked about staffing, monitoring of minors and conditional state approval; the petitioner said the state had given conditional approval and that the business owners also own the shopping center and will be onsite.
The council moved, supported and approved the transfer by voice vote; no opposition was recorded.
