Zeke Jackson, a member of the Village of Waterford Police Exploratory Committee, called the Jan. 14, 2026 meeting to order at 9:07 a.m. and led members through an agenda that included review of a draft contract proposing joint police services between the Village and the Town of Waterford.
Adam Jaskie provided a brief overview of the developments that led to the meeting and the draft agreement. Committee members examined the contract terms and discovered the Town’s Police Exploratory Committee had not yet met or made a motion on the enclosed draft. In response, Troy McReynolds moved and Pat Goldammer seconded a motion that the two bodies hold a joint meeting to discuss the contract and that the Village committee should meet only jointly with the Town going forward. The committee voted "all ayes" on the motion, which carried. The minutes record that the draft contract review and the decision to require joint meetings were the primary actions taken at the session.
The committee also approved earlier minutes (a motion by Troy McReynolds, seconded by Pastor Joshua Conradt) and adjourned at 9:43 a.m. The minutes were recorded as "Respectfully submitted by Rachel Ladewig, Village Clerk." The committee noted the Oct. 6, 2026 joint meeting minutes will be presented again at the next joint meeting.
