Sheriff reports spike in calls and thefts in Round Valley

Sheriff Kendall told the Round Valley Area Municipal Advisory Council on Jan. 7 that Round Valley had seen an uptick in calls for service over the holiday period. "RV had 250 calls for service over 32 days. A lot of thefts, a lot of arrests," the report said, and Laytonville recorded 115 calls in the same time period.
The sheriff's office provided residents with a pointer to the MCSO 'Citizen Connect' webpage for detailed statistics and noted there had been numerous New Year’s calls about "explosions" across the area. No formal action was taken by the MAC at the meeting; the report served as an informational public-safety update to the community.
