The council continued discussion of a community project to install or improve fire hydrants in Covelo. Lew Chichester is expected to give a brief report and requested an official letter of support that could be used in grant applications to USDA, the Mendocino Community Foundation and other funders. The minutes say this item is a work in progress and will remain on the agenda.
County staff and counsel flagged questions about whether the feasibility study's cost estimates are realistic and who would be responsible for long‑term maintenance. John H will plan another meeting with county counsel Xuyen Ung and include RVAMAC members to address those questions and next steps.
