Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation reports school mental-health gains and expanding senior meals

Tammy Verhus, introduced as interim executive director of the Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation, told the council the nonprofit has served "a total of 82 students," including 62 at Enumclaw High School, nine at Enumclaw Middle School and 11 at Thunder Mountain. "Six of our EHS students, they graduated from therapy," she said, and described an improvement in behavioral-incident metrics between 2025 and 2026.
Verhus also described the foundation's senior hot-meals program, saying it serves roughly 66 seniors year to date with three weekly deliveries and about "400 meals prepared from scratch each week," supported by roughly 87 volunteers. She thanked the council for prior support and urged continued partnership; staff and council offered no formal action during the presentation.
