After presentations and public comment, the board moved through the consent agenda. President called for approval and the board approved items 10a1 through 10e3 with exceptions: educational services item 10.25 had been pulled at the start of the meeting and the assignment for Lamar Collins (item 10a1) was held pending verification of a teaching credential.
Vice President Brandon Myers moved to pull several personnel items (a3, a4, a5 and related e2/e3) for additional discussion; board members debated timing, the optics of raises while positions are cut, and the net savings asserted by administration. The president and administration explained that some positions were eliminated this year (cited reductions totaling about $380,000) and that compensation increases for bargaining units were covered by cuts and reclassifications elsewhere. The minutes of the July 23 meeting were approved and the board set follow‑up review of the pulled personnel items and fiscal clarifications for future meetings.
