Facing a net enrollment decline of 12 students (21 exits and 9 new entries), Stony Creek trustees agreed on Aug. 26 to launch a districtwide PR and recruitment campaign funded by a final $80,000 CSI grant that expires Sept. 30, 2025.
Administrators and trustees discussed outreach tactics including targeted mailers to Orland and South Orland, professional highway signage and banners, tabling at county events, promotional videos and streamlined online registration. The board emphasized balancing recruitment with support for currently enrolled students (estimated at approximately 47). Public commenters including Kno'Qoti representative Kyle Bill and community members voiced support and suggestions for the outreach plan.
The board endorsed immediate use of grant funds to purchase long‑lasting assets (canopies, signage, video production) and directed staff to report back with implementation details in September.
