Superintendent Lewis opened the staff reports Aug. 19 with several district updates. Staff presentations recapped data from Summer Rise programs at the elementary and middle schools, and Assistant Superintendent Rochelle Cox provided an update on district construction projects. The meeting minutes also note that Justin Reese, Director of Activities, shared that there will be no activity fees for students this year.
Other announcements included a Back to School Resource Fair scheduled for Aug. 23, 2025; VISTA program orientation dates; and that Fridley Public Schools was invited to join the League of Innovative Schools. Superintendent Lewis and Assistant Superintendent Cox also reported attending the Leaders of Color Summit in Maryland with Senior officer Harold Scott and meeting Superintendent David Law in his capacity as AASA president.
