Floodwood board elects Leanaya Miller chair; Hutchinson, Suonvieri and Johnson retain officer roles

At its Jan. 6 organizational meeting the Floodwood Public School District Board elected Leanaya Miller as chair and confirmed other officers for 2025, adopted routine organizational motions and heard committee assignments.
The Board of Education of Independent School District No. 698 met in an organizational session on Jan. 6, 2025. Vice Chair Tracy Hutchinson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m., and Member Leanaya Miller was elected board chair after nominations and no further candidates were offered.
Member Corinne Suonvieri was reelected as Clerk and Tanya Johnson was elected Treasurer; Tracy Hutchinson was reelected as Vice-Chair. The minutes record that nominations were offered from the board and that Member Miller assumed the chair and continued calling the meeting. The agenda to open the meeting was approved earlier by motion from Miller, seconded by Dave Rohde, and carried by unanimous voice vote.
