Board adopts 2025–26 option-enrollment resolution setting capacity limits

The board unanimously adopted a resolution setting option-enrollment limits for the 2025–26 school year. The resolution (read in full at the Aug. 11 meeting) instructs the district to adopt Policy 5006 Appendix 1, which lists maximum numbers of option (nonresident) students by grade and program, and establishes the district’s standards for accepting or rejecting option-enrollment applications.
The resolution text reiterates the statutory requirement that the board adopt capacity standards by Oct. 15 each year and records that the board’s determinations considered available staff, facilities, projected resident enrollment and special education availability. The transcript shows the board approved the resolution with a motion by Jesse Juenemann and a second by Mike Langan; the roll-call vote was 6–0 in favor.
