Carnwath Community Farming to display lavender, goats and heritage dahlias

Courtney and Brian Kolb, representing Carnwath Community Farming, told the Wappinger Farmers Market audience the farm sells dried and fresh lavender bundles, rents community garden plots to residents and uses goats to help clear invasive species.
"So today, we have our lavender," one Kolb said, describing fresh and dried bundles cut a few hours earlier. The Kolbs also said community garden plots are rented and urged visitors to walk up to the farm to see gardens and heritage plantings. The Kolbs announced that in September the Wappinger Heritage Dahlias will be at the farm, a seasonal attraction expected to draw visitors.
The Kolbs framed Carnwath as an active community partner, and the town supervisor described planned improvements including a new community garden plot area for the coming year.
