Swor moved the resolution to call the special election and Mortens seconded; the motion carried on a 5–0 roll-call vote. The board did not identify the vacancy holder in the motion text; the resolution specifies the board determined a vacancy has occurred and an election is necessary.
The district will publish candidate filing instructions and election logistics as required by law.
