Superintendent reports enrollment, summer programs and vulnerability assessment; board reschedules June meeting

Superintendent Dr. Brenton White updated the board on CAPS and enrollment numbers for both districts and outlined summer school programming that will be hosted on each campus. He reported progress on the District’s Vulnerability Assessment and specifically commended Chief Peter Copin for his work on the assessment. Dr. White also noted the availability of a preliminary copy of the district’s 2023 Form 990 and said the final version will be submitted at the June board meeting.
Dr. White told the board that this meeting marked board member Gene Walker’s final meeting and formally requested that the June board meeting be rescheduled to June 26; the board approved the rescheduling. He also listed several upcoming events and graduation dates, including an Enrollment Fair at IVEEC (April 17), Education Hero event at IVE (May 20, 6:00 p.m.), senior breakfasts (May 21 and May 30 at 8:30 a.m.), a retirement celebration for Judy Jones (May 22, 2:00 p.m.), and graduation ceremonies on May 31 at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
