District reports 57 students and strong attendance; Native American Heritage Day recognized

Superintendent Emily Pendell reported that the district currently enrolls 34 students at Elk Creek Elementary and 23 students at Elk Creek High School, for a district total of 57 students. Attendance rates were reported as 93% for the elementary school, 94% for the high school and a combined district average of 94.4%.
The ASB student representative, Serenity Mahone, described recent Native American Heritage Day activities presented by Kno'Qoti Wellness, including demonstrations on acorn uses, basket weaving and ceremonial dance. Pendell offered a special thank you to Kno'Qoti Native Wellness and to community members who helped prepare Indian Tacos for the event.
