At the May 15 meeting the board conducted first readings of numerous policy updates, including Policy 207 (Public Hearings), 209 (Code of Ethics), 210 (Conflict of Interest for School Board Members), 211 (Criminal or Civil Action), 402 (Disability Nondiscrimination), 413 (Harassment and Violence), 506 (Student Discipline), 514 (Bullying Prohibition), 616 (School District System Accountability) and 806 (Crisis Management). These first readings indicate proposed revisions are under consideration and will likely return for additional review.
The board also completed second readings on a separate group of policies including Policies 103 (Complaints), 201 (Legal Status of the School Board), 202 (School Board Officers), subparts of 203 (Operation and Procedures), 204 (Meeting Minutes), 516 (Student Medication) and 731 (Information Security). Meeting materials noted no policy adoptions at this session and did not provide additional amendments or votes to finalize policy changes.
