Southwest Public Schools board re-elects officers, keeps committee assignments for 2026

President Jason Neseth presided over the Jan. 12, 2026, meeting and the board moved through organizational business, electing officers for the 2026 calendar year. On a motion by Derek Meyers, seconded by Brooke Brooks, the board confirmed Neseth as president, Duane Teter as vice-president, Brooks as secretary and recorded Jennifer McConville as treasurer (McConville was absent for the vote).
Board members also retained committee assignments for 2026. The Americanism Committee will include Teter, O’Dea and Meyers; the Transportation Committee will include Neseth, Brooks and McConville; Building and Grounds will include Meyers, O’Dea and Brooks; Negotiations will include Neseth, Teter and McConville; and Brooks will continue on the Foundation Board. All organization motions passed with the recorded vote of Ayes: Brooks, Teter, Meyers, Neseth and O’Dea; Nays: none; Absent: McConville.
The reorganization followed an adjournment sine die at 6:52 p.m. specifically to conduct officer elections, per the board motion. The board set its next regular meeting for Feb. 16, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in Bartley.
