Treynor school board approves at‑risk dropout prevention plan for 2026–27

The Treynor Community School District board approved an at‑risk dropout prevention plan for the 2026–27 school year during a special meeting on Feb. 23, 2026. The chair called the question and the motion to approve the plan passed.
A staff member told the board the plan was required to accompany a previously approved modified supplemental amount that the district submitted to the state. “If you recall in our January 9 meeting, the board took action to approve our at risk dropout prevention, modified supplemental amount,” the staff member stated. The plan, included in the board packet, summarizes district interventions that begin in elementary grades and continue through secondary school, including targeted reading and math intervention, counseling supports, mentoring, and credit recovery programs.
Board members had reviewed the packet in advance and did not request further amendments at the meeting. As the staff member noted, the district must provide the approved plan and minutes to the state as part of its submission; the board voted to approve those materials at the meeting. The board did not specify additional funding changes at the Feb. 23 session.
