Brooklyn and Gabby said the field trip helped them engage in Spanish beyond the classroom and supported cross‑curricular learning about ecosystems. “Going on this field trip, it was really beneficial because it allowed us to engage in a way that you just don't get in the classroom,” one of the students said. They explained they produced videos and slideshows and that the unit included projects on water shortage impacts and comparative country studies.
Administrators said the program has grown since being offered online and praised the students' ability to use Spanish in debates and presentations. The board thanked the students for presenting and invited them to stay for the remainder of the meeting.
