Elementary cook Monica Grasshorn honored for student care

The Treynor Comm School District board recognized Monica Grasshorn, an elementary school cook, for what the board called exceptional attentiveness to student needs in the lunchroom and for stepping into additional duties when nutrition staff were short.
Superintendent (speaker 2) read the nomination, noting Grasshorn’s attention to food allergies and willingness to alert teachers when a child needs extra support. Monica Grasshorn (speaker 3), introduced by the superintendent, said, "It's been an honor and a privilege to serve the children of of this district." The board posed for a photo and offered thanks.
