The Shakopee Public Schools board unanimously approved a series of routine and governance items at its April 28 regular business meeting.
Board member Brophy moved to approve the agenda "as presented," a motion seconded by Aldrich; the motion passed with all present voting in favor. The board then approved the consent agenda and a donations resolution during the meeting's consent block. Presenter Jeff Smith introduced the donations resolution, which was approved by roll call with all present voting yes.
The board voted to approve student-school-board member appointments for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years following a motion by Brophy and a second from Johnson. The board also approved an enrollment study presented by Hazel Reinhardt and a district health insurance recommendation introduced by Keith Gray, Director of Human Resources. Superintendent Mike Redmond and Chair Smith noted that the health-insurance item had been misnumbered on the published agenda (listed as 10.1.1 rather than 10.2), a clerical issue the board acknowledged on the record.
Chad Johnson presented a package of final policy updates; Brophy moved to adopt the policies, Valdez seconded, and the motion carried with all present voting in favor. The board also approved adding a special board meeting on June 4, 2025. The meeting adjourned at 8:33 PM.
