Resident urges district to update interested parties on Tahoe Cedars water project after TRPA flags EIR and seasonal limits

Michael Levin, who had spoken at the prior board meeting, offered a public comment update on potential sites for the Tahoe Cedars water project. He said he heard from TRPA that using the site next to the water tower or staging site would require an EIR and that the site could not be used between May 1 and July each year because of nesting restrictions.
"They let me know that in order to use the site next to the, water tower or the staging site that you would need to provide an EIR and an application to the TRPA, and that you would also, not be able to use that site between May 1 and July every year because of the nesting site," Levin said. He asked whether the district's PR person could send updates to interested parties because residents had not received recent information about the project.
The chair said the board would take Levin's comments as public comment on the earlier agenda item and closed public comment for that item.
