Director (S4) ran through Parks & Recreation strategic priorities and emphasized the committee’s ongoing focus on three multi-year projects: a long-term strategy for a recreation center and swimming pool, supporting the Tahoe Cross Country Lodge replacement and expansion, and advancing a feasibility study for the Tahoe City Community Center.
“Develop a long term strategy for a recreation center swimming pool facility,” Director (S4) said while listing priorities. Staff emphasized these items are in the planning and feasibility phase; the community center operations plan will follow decisions about the underlying property or project option selected through feasibility work. For the Tahoe Cross Country Lodge replacement, staff identified budgeted expenditures and carryover funding in the special-studies line and said consultants are engaged to advance phase-one work.
Committee members asked for scheduling updates; staff said consultants are preparing for an additional workshop (tentatively in December) and that staff will return with feasibility study estimates and options next year so the committee can set priorities among the three major projects.
