WEM reports fall athletics and preschool enrollment ahead of new school year

Jeff Boran, WEM Activities and Community Education Director, briefed the board Aug. 25 on fall athletics, community education and early‑childhood enrollment. Boran reported cross country practices began Aug. 11 with the first meet Aug. 22 and listed participation counts: high school volleyball 33 (grades 9–12), junior high volleyball 31 (grades 7–8), football 52 (9–12) and 28 (7–8).
Boran also reported Little Bucs Preschool had 53 students registered and that school‑age childcare had 34 registrations for fall 2025. He said the district will host an open house Aug. 27 from 4:00–7:30 p.m., with a separate orientation for 5th graders.
