Chair Luhui Whitebear read aloud the board’s executive summary of Superintendent Ryan Noss’s 2024–25 performance evaluation, noting both areas of growth and several accomplishments. The summary highlighted increases in Algebra I completion and reading scores in Spanish, a 99% graduation rate for CTE concentrators, and the district’s investments in mental health supports.
Whitebear also noted persistent gaps for some student groups: “YouthTruth data reflects something continues to be missing, most notably with Black students,” the summary read, and the board pointed to participation in targeted grants — including the Black Student Success Grant and federal Indian Education Grant — as promising strategies to address those gaps. The board expressed confidence in Dr. Noss’s leadership while identifying areas for continued work and cross-analysis of data to target remaining disparities.
