Board suspends policy, delays Budget Committee appointments until December

Director David Linn moved and Director Rose Solowski seconded a motion to suspend the current Budget Policy DBEA (2013) and postpone appointments until the December meeting so all four candidates (including two returning members) could be interviewed together. The motion passed with five aye votes (Vice Chair Mohring, Director Linn, Chair Shields, Director Solowski and Director Standley) and one nay vote (Director Ronald "Jess" Hardin). The board apologized to candidates attending online.
Board members discussed whether incumbents should automatically continue or whether all candidates should go through the same open process; the minutes record that policy DBEA (2013) was cited in that exchange. The scheduled budget committee interviews did not take place at this meeting as a result of the postponement.
