Centennial School District 28J board adopts Personal Electronic Devices policy (JFCEB) in unanimous vote

The Centennial School District 28J Governing Board completed the second reading and adopted Policy JFCEB (Personal Electronic Devices) and the associated administrative regulation (AR) during its Oct. 22 work session.
April Olson, the district’s Director of Curriculum & Student Learning, and Superintendent James Owens provided a brief overview of the cleaned, revised policy and AR. Director Michael Newman moved to approve the proposed JFCEB policy and delete the current policy; Director Ronald “Jess” Hardin seconded. Director Melissa Standley provided her aye via text to Executive Assistant Missy Grindle and the motion passed unanimously.
The board then voted to approve the updated JFCEB administrative regulation and to delete the prior AR. Director Rose Solowski moved to approve the AR; Director Hardin seconded; Standley again provided an aye by text and the motion passed unanimously. The actions replace the prior policy and AR with the updated versions presented at the second reading.
The approvals were recorded as unanimous board votes; no separate amendments or conditions were reported at the meeting.
