Tim Bradshaw reported that the final bond payment for the courthouse was made on June 1, fulfilling the building obligation. Assistant Corporate Counsel Jeannine Bolhouse told the authority that "the transfer of the Courthouse from the Building Authority to the County was automatic and no formal action is needed."
Bolhouse said legal counsel is working to refine the terms of a new lease with the City of Grand Rapids so the city can continue use of the facility. The transfer reflects conclusion of the bond repayment obligation; authority staff did not record any additional formal votes for this transfer during the June 10 meeting.
