The board packet included tabulations and consultant recommendations for the district’s 2025 roof rehabilitation projects at multiple sites. For Base Bid #1 (Birchview Elementary) the packet recommended awarding Mint Roofing Inc. the base bid of $294,300; for Base Bid #2 (Central Middle School) the recommended award was McPhillips Bros Roofing for $1,265,880; and for Base Bid #3 (Wayzata High School) the recommended award was McPhillips Bros Roofing for $891,100.
Each bid opening occurred on Feb. 25, 2025, and ZMD Engineered Solutions supplied letters recommending acceptance of the low responsive bidders for the respective base bids. The packet included contractor start and completion dates (typical start 6/9/2025; typical completion 8/22/2025), crew counts and unit-price schedules used to evaluate additions or alternates.
Finance staff noted the projects are funded from Long-Term Facilities Maintenance revenue. ZMD’s letters for each base bid summarized references and prior work history and concluded the recommended firms are capable of performing the specified work.
If the board advances the recommended awards, administration will finalize contracts, coordinate summer schedules, and flag any change orders for board review.
