Wayzata board recommends $535,000 award for West Middle School window rehabilitation

ZMD Engineered Solutions, the district’s project reviewer, told the district in a formal recommendation that it had reviewed the bids and “it is our opinion that Northern Glass & Glazing, Inc. is capable of performing the Work as specified.” ZMD also noted Northern Glass & Glazing has satisfactorily completed similarly scoped work for other districts and facilities in the state.
The bid opening was held Feb. 25, 2025, and the administration presented the lowest responsible bidder and supporting tabulation as part of the consent agenda. The board packet included expected start and completion dates (start 6/9/2025; completion 8/22/2025) and unit-price line items used for evaluation. The project manager’s letter and the bid tabulation were provided to board members before the recommendation.
Next steps in the agenda packet called for formal award of the contract; the packet noted the project will be coordinated with district operations and that the awarded contractor confirmed it can complete the work for the submitted amount.
