"The primary challenge the District continues to face is lower birth rates," Swagerty said, and he cited specific class-size shifts: the graduating class of 2024 was approximately 180 students while the district enrolled roughly 90 kindergarten students for 2024–25.
Swagerty said district leaders will seek to maintain "quality and excellence within our programs" even as they respond to changing enrollment patterns and development in the community.
