Budget committee elects Chris Cahill chair after contested vote

Chris Cahill was elected Chairperson of the North Bend School District #13 Budget Committee on May 8, 2025, after a 7-2 vote of committee members. The committee had first approved the evening's agenda on a motion by Nathan McClintock, seconded by Bob Dillard (9-0).
Nominations for chair were made from the floor: Nathan McClintock nominated Jim Jordan and Julie Thies nominated Chris Cahill. Jim Jordan seconded the nomination for Jordan and remarked it “is best when a nonelected member is a chairperson.” The roll-call-style votes recorded seven members for Chris Cahill and two for Jim Jordan (Nathan McClintock and Bob Dillard).
