The Medford School District 549C Board of Education voted April 24 to adopt Resolution #2025-2, authorizing use of the Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) procurement method for the North Medford High School gymnasium.
"I move to approve Resolution #2025-2 as presented approving the use of the CM/GC method of procurement for the North Medford High School Gymnasium," Suzanne Messer said when she made the motion; Kendell Ferguson seconded. Chair Cynthia Wright opened a public hearing on the procurement method and recorded that "Public Input: No comments were made." The roll-call vote was Atkinson: Yea; Messer: Yea; Williams: Yea; Ferguson: Yea; Wright: Yea. Outcome: motion carried, 5-0.
Board members and staff framed the action as an authorization of the procurement approach rather than a final contractor selection. The vote allows district staff to pursue CM/GC procurement steps consistent with board direction and applicable public contracting rules. The item followed a brief public hearing, which the chair opened and closed after no members of the public spoke.
