Student leaders and elementary staff highlight spring events, science night drew 600 attendees

Student Board Member Emanuel Hernandez updated the Milton-Freewater Unified SD 7 board on spring activities at Mac-Hi, saying spring sports are underway and that “Prom is this weekend.” He reported FBLA sent 38 students to a Portland event with 24 placing and noted FFA members earned placements at state competitions.
At Gib Olinger Elementary, Sarah Ensunsa described early-learning supports and family engagement events. She said Jump Start for incoming kindergarteners remains important and that the school’s Book & a Movie event will invite families to a drive-in showing of Stuart Little on May 8. “Over 600 people attended science night,” Ensunsa told the board, noting the event featured more than 22 stations and community volunteers staffed 12 of them.
