Klamath County SD elects Brooke Kliewer chair, Marc Staunton vice chair for 2025-26

Brooke Kliewer was elected chair of the Klamath County School District Board of Directors for the 2025-26 school year at the board’s July 17 meeting, and Marc Staunton was chosen as vice chair. The board confirmed a full slate of officers after brief nominations and votes taken during the meeting.
The oath of office was administered to Katie Bruner for Board Position No. 5 (Peterson Elementary/Stearns Elementary zone) before leadership votes. Nominations for chair included a motion by Steve Lowell for John Rademacher that went unseconded and a successful nomination by Marc Staunton for Kliewer, which Katie Bruner seconded. As recorded in the minutes, the motion to elect Kliewer passed with four yeas and one abstention: “This motion, made by Marc Staunton and seconded by Katie Bruner, Passed.” John Rademacher is recorded as having abstained.
The board then elected Staunton as vice chair by unanimous vote after a motion from Katie Bruner and a second from Brooke Kliewer. Board members in attendance were Kliewer, Rademacher, Staunton, Steve Lowell (via Zoom) and newly sworn-in Katie Bruner. The leadership changes take effect for the upcoming school year and will influence committee assignments and meeting organization going forward.
