April groundwater update: rainfall above average, no current shortage in Mendocino CSD

The report showed average depth to water across monitoring wells on April 21, 2026, of 13.41 feet and noted April rainfall of 3.5 inches as of April 22. "Following the water shortage contingency plan, 03/31/2026 was the most recent water shortage evaluation date...there's no water shortage within the district currently," staff said. The next shortage evaluation date is May 31, 2026.
Staff added there were zero overage notification letters mailed this month and a small number of notices for missing meter readings; staff praised routine follow‑up efforts to avoid unnecessary violation letters. The groundwater committee schedule and upcoming budget timeline were also discussed.
